My 10 learning points on the 57 slides...
After watching the 57 slides, my 10 learning points are:- The history of Internet : I now know the goals of the creation of the internet and the group who invented it, the Advanced Research Projects Agency.
- How to access and connect to the Internet: I now understand what I need to do in order to connect to either a slow speed technology or a high speed technology.
- The rules of netiquette: I now know netiquette is the code of acceptable behaviors users should follow while on the Internet, for example, "Treat others as you would like them to traet you".
- The steps required for Web Publishing: I did not know what were the steps before, but after the lesson and the project, I now know.
- The purpose of a Web Browser: I now know that the Web browser is a program which it's pupose is to allow us to view web pages
- What an IP address is: I now understand that an IP address is the number that uniquely identifies each computer or device connected to the internet
- The components of a Web address: I now know the true components which are a domain name, an URL, a link and a subject directory
- The types of Web sites: I didn't know this before because I didn't emphasize it as a major thing, but I have learnt now that it can be split into portal, news, informational, business, educational, entertainment, advocacy, blog and personal.
- The types of e-commerce: I now know that e-commerce is short for electronic commerce and is a business transaction that happens on and over the Internet.
- How the data travels the Internet with the use of a cable modem connection: I now know how data travels through the Internet. Step 1: request data from the Internet. Step 2: The cable modem transfers the computer's digital signals to the cable television one. Step 3: The request get sent to the central cable system. Step 4: The request gets sent to the cable operator. Step 5: The cable operator routes the request through the Internet backbone to the destination server. Lastly, Step 6: The server receives the requested web page and sends it back through the internet backbone to the computer.
